I have been working in the counseling field since 1998.  My  journey to where I am today has been a long and interesting one.

My journey has been influenced by  several questions.
These include:
  • Why do we do the things we do?
  • How do we find meaning, happiness, and inner peace?
  • Are there common areas of consciousness that join all of us together, and how do we access these?
  • How do we develop meaningful and fulfilling relationships, work and other activities?
I have lived in a number of places and have had a number of careers including working as a carpenter, teaching Grades 1 to 8 in Waldorf Schools, and most recently in the counseling field.

My counseling experience includes:
  • Outpatient mental health services for adults, children and families.
  • Residential and outpatient drug and alcohol treatment for both adults, adolescents, and families,
  • Supervising an alcohol and drug treatment and prevention program for adolescents and their families.

Notable educational and professional achievements include:
  • BA in history from Louisiana State University
  • Waldorf Teacher Training at Emerson College, Sussex, England
  • MEd in Counseling from the University of Oregon
  • Licensed Marriage and Family  Therapist.
  • Internal Family Systems therapy Level II training and certification.
  • Supervisor for a Functional Family Therapy team.  FFT is an evidenced based practice for working with families with older children
Other experiences and areas of interest:
  • Parent of five children, three of whom are step children
  • Singing and playing the fiddle with several groups
  • Hiking, Biking, Swimming, Yoga and Camping
